Accessibility

Hey you, we want you at Unleashed. Here’s the best way to get there.

FYA is committed to making Unleashed as accessible as possible for all young people. Unleashed will be returning to Fed Square again in 2016, and much like FYA, Fed Square is committed to accessibility throughout all of their events.

Here we have outlined access details for each element of Unleashed.

Deakin Edge has lift access and is wheelchair accessible. Arrangements can also be made to enter from the Fed Square Car Park. Accessible toilets can be found in The Atrium, which is located next to Deakin Edge.

Changemakers Marketplace

Where: Main Square, Fed Square
The undulating surface of The Square is made up of sandstone cobblestones, with a marked access path. Swanston Street offers the best access to The Square and lift access is available from The Atrium. The Big Screen is equipped with a hearing loop and there are accessible toilets located next to Time Out Café. St Paul’s Court, Swanston Street Forecourt and The Amphitheatre also provide wheelchair access.

Hearing Loops

Hearing loops are provided in The Atrium, Deakin Edge and in The Square (our Main Stage).

Seeing Eye Dogs

Seeing eye dogs are welcome throughout Fed Square and Deakin Edge.

Transport

Make sure you catch the train or tram to Unleashed! We’re right across the road from Flinders Street Station. There is also ample bike parking.

Parking at Fed Square

Fed Square has its own multi-level car park, which is accessible from Russell Street or Batman Ave (Exhibition Street extension – City Link). The Fed Square Car Park is open 24hrs and has accessible spaces located next to the lift on each level.

Taxis & Picking Up / Dropping off Passengers

If you are accessing The Square the safest place to pick up and drop off passengers is the Taxi Rank across the road on Swanston Street. If you are accessing Deakin Edge, we recommend using the Russell Street Extension.

Accessible Toilets

There are accessible public toilets and baby-change facilities located in The Square, next to Time Out and in The Atrium, next to Kirra Galleries.

Need A Place To Relax & Chill-Out?

We understand festivals are exciting and sometimes you need a place to recharge. If you need a break from the hustle and bustle, there is a quiet terrace behind the National Gallery of Victoria, accessible to the left of the entrance to Deakin Edge (via the Atrium). Please see the FYA Info Tent for directions.
